The REBORN project celebrated its two-year anniversary during the General Assembly held in Berlin, hosted by Cellogic. This event provided a platform for consortium partners to reconnect, share updates, and discuss progress.

Day 1 Highlights

The meeting began with the introduction of new collaborators and a seminar by Lisa Bregoli from Warrant Hub, focusing on Intellectual Property Rights and EU expectations. Stefania Melandri from beWarrant shared insights on dissemination achievements and collaboration with sister projects.

Technical sessions included contributions from Dr. Simon Weber of Cellogic on clinical solution comparisons, Jacopo Barberi and Giorgia Montalbano of Politecnico di Torino on cardiac patch prototypes, and Miguel Lino from Universidade de Coimbra on drug efficacy testing. Kenneth Dalgarno’s team from Newcastle University provided updates on in vitro heart chambers.

Day 2 Highlights

Angela Sorriento from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna presented on in vivo application setups, while Ornella Ieropoli from CORCYM and David Galan from BIOINICIA discussed patch design and manufacturing. Rui J. Cerqueira from Universidade do Porto addressed clinical specifications, and Dr. Simon Weber concluded with an economic evaluation of the project.

The event concluded with remarks from Project Coordinator Professor Chiara Vitale Brovarone, who acknowledged the collaborative efforts and outlined next steps for the project.

The General Assembly reinforced the consortium’s commitment to advancing innovative solutions in regenerative medicine through collaboration and expertise sharing.
